Some may view the comma as a pesky punctuation point, however, many of us realize that it can, significantly, change the meaning of the message … This blog is dedicated to exposing situations in which the comma has a lot of persuasive power. Plus, apparently, we’re really into alliteration.
Hi, I would like to ask if you could help me out regarding the use of comma. I am working as a voice mail transcriptionist and the messages often start with a phrase like, “Hi John it’s me Michelle”
now, my problem is how to correctly punctuate such phrases. And if you could help me out also with the phrase” Thanks bye”
Overall, this is a fabulous blog. I admire your commitment to the comma. However, I wish you would mind your ellipses as closely as you mind your commas. Your overuse of the ellipsis verges on mockery. Furthermore, most reference guides state that a space should come between ellipsis points. Do continue to educate the world about commas, but please mind your ellipses, too.
